The Pew Center on the States report reveals statistics showing the national incarceration rate as 1 in 31 adults, but "1 in 13 adults were under some form of correctional supervision in Georgia." We must change those numbers by challenging biased policing in all counties of the state. Through community watch, providing education with technology training and connecting youth/young adults with seniors, we will spread empowerment for Black youth and adults.
Many city and county government bodies and authorities in Georgia do not reflect the state's demographics. In fact, Gwinnett County, Georgia (877,922 population) is the most diverse county in southeast USA but politically is almost exclusively run by whites. We must change this fact by identifying candidates with a progressive Black agenda, as well as groom the next wave of Black politicians who exemplify 'my skinfolks ARE my kinfolks'!
Blacks have been marginalized, underestimated and treated less than a citizen of these United States since first kidnapped from Africa and brought to the shores enslaved. Bigotry, white-priviledge and cultural conditioning has brought us to this moment of racial unrest. We demand change but violence is not the answer. Using our collective buying power with a well-thoughout strategy will bring change! Black people in economic lock-step is POWER.

Since the hashtag #BlackLivesMatter was started by Alicia Garza and Pattrisse Cullors, media, anti-Black people, institutions and organizations have consistently demonized #BlackLivesMatter as a radical group. It is NOT! The hashtag #BlackLivesMatter speaks to the need for Black people to be recognized as humans and not property or animals. The hashtag #BlackLivesMatter spun the organization, chapters and a movement across this country. ALL Black people are members of #BlackLivesMatter — our skin color gives us automatic membership.
As murders and brutality by police officers on the Black community continues, media now is attempting to change the narrative away from innocent Black people to the fragility of police officers narrative as a distraction. WE MUST NOT ALLOW THE NARRATIVE TO CHANGE! We respect all police officers, but we do not respect nor honor murderers of any profession. Black lives are just as important as all other lives in this country.
As we remember the adoption of the 14th Amendment of the United States Constitution guaranteeing citizenship to Black people, we declare Thursday, July 28, 2016 the #BlackLivesMatter Solidarity Day. On this day, we are issuing a Cease and Desist Letter to the United States to stop ALL unlawful activity against the Black commumity.
#BlackLivesMatter Georgia Movement is asking the Black community to stand in solidarity with each other, and let us reset our thinking on this day as we strategically move forward collectively to reclaim our neighborhoods.

The 2016 November election is very important, especially with the vacancy on the supreme court, the strong efforts of Republicans to keep Blacks and other people of color from voting, and the racists rhetoric of the Republican party. While the Democrats take the Black vote for granted, they at least have our community issues in discussion. VOTE on Tuesday, November 8, 2016!

The 21st century offers new tools in the fight for civil and human rights for Black people in the United States, and the community must be a united front. There is no ONE solution. It is going to take the energy, passion and vision of young Black activists coupled with the vision, renewed passion, lessons learned and wisdom of past activists. To make the fight for Black equality in this country successful and stop the violence in our communities, it is going to take ALL Black people using our economic collective power to demand cease and desist from the United States of America, as well as reclaim our communities and build solidarity for a united group of peoople.
We are bringing young, middle-age and senior Black Americans and supporters of all races together for the common goal of the #BlackLivesMatter non-violent movement. If you are interested in getting involved, please contact us today.

This country must abandon the lie that the deep psychological wounds of slavery, racism and structural oppression are figments of the Black imagination. The time to address these wounds is now.

To control a people you must first control what they think about themselves and how they regard their history and culture. And when your conqueror makes you ashamed of your culture and your history, he needs no prison walls and no chains to hold you.
